The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has retained its right to host the 2021 T20 World Cup in India.
BCCI was originally supposed to host the tournament, but their plans were dampened after the International Cricket Council (ICC) was forced to postpone this year’s T20 World Cup due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
However, India has now been confirmed as the 2021 T20 World Cup host. The decision comes following an ICC board meet held on August 7, India Today reported.
Meanwhile, Australia will now be hosting the 2022 edition. They were supposed to host the T20 tournament in October-November, which got cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
