A day before he died of a heart attack in Gurgaon, Satish Kaushik was photographed at Javed Akhtar’s Holi party in Mumbai. In his last social media post, the veteran actor shared photographs that show him smiling, laughing and socialising with other guests.
Satish Kaushik died of a heart attack on March 8. He was 66. A veteran actor and director, Kaushik made a name for himself in the Hindi film industry after starting his career in theatre. He starred in several critical and commercial hits in a career spanning nearly three decades.
Kaushik was in Gurgaon when his health began to deteriorate, the Indian Express reported. He died after suffering a heart attack in a car. His mortal remains will be brought to Mumbai after a post-mortem is performed.
Satish Kaushik was among the several members of the film fraternity who attended Javed Akhtar’s annual Holi party. He shared a series of pictures from the celebration on Twitter and Instagram which show him with the host, as well as other guests like Ali Fazal, Richa Chadha and Mahima Chaudhry.

An alumnus of the National School of Drama, Kaushik’s breakout role came with Mr India in 1987. Besides starring in projects like Ram Lakhan, Udta Punjab and Baaghi 3, he also directed more than 15 films.
Kaushik’s death was announced by his longtime friend Anupam Kher on Twitter this morning.
