Following Satya Nadella's announcement welcoming OpenAI co-founders Sam Altman and Greg Brockman to Microsoft, Elon Musk has had a humourous take on the development.
The X (formerly Twitter) owner and known critic of Microsoft's control over OpenAI, who had earlier demanded that the reason for OpenAI ousting Altman as its CEO be made public, quipped: "Now they will have to use Teams!"

Elon Musk was referring to Microsoft Teams -- a proprietary business communication platform developed by Microsoft.
Musk also chimed in on Altman's post on his joining the software giant, a thread in which Nadella too has responded.
"Wild times. Satya ftw (for the win)," Musk wrote.

The update comes after days of uncertainty and amid speculation of Sam Altman returning as the CEO of ChatGPT maker OpenAI after he was abruptly removed from the position. Microsoft, the startup’s biggest backer with more than $10 billion at stake, was reported by Bloomberg to be working with investors, including Thrive Capital and Tiger Global Management to bring back Altman.
But in a fresh turn of events on Monday, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced that Sam Altman and Greg Brockman would be joining the tech giant to lead a new advanced AI research team.
"We're extremely excited to share the news that Sam Altman and Greg Brockman, together with colleagues, will be joining Microsoft to lead a new advanced AI research team. We look forward to moving quickly to provide them with the resources needed for their success," he wrote on X.
Nadella's post also confirmed former Twitch CEO Emmett Shear's appointment as the new OpenAI CEO, saying that they are "looking forward to getting to know Emmett Shear and OpenAI's new leadership team and working with them."
Shear will take over as CEO from Mira Murati, who was publicly aligned with Sam Altman.
