New Zealand cricket team’s captain Kane Williamson is currently in India for the World Cup 2023. Unfortunately, during a match against Bangladesh on Friday, the skipper sustained a fracture on his thumb while running between wickets. He might not be seen in the next few matches while he recovers but right now his sense of humour is the talk of the town.

Williamson took to Instagram to share a picture with former WWE wrestler The Great Khali. The post obviously went viral online as the caption left his fans and followers in splits. In the image, the cricketer was seen shaking hands with Dalip Singh Rana (also known as The Great Khali).

“When I really fractured my thumb. Na but seriously, that’s one strong handshake! Pleasure to meet @thegreatkhali!” Williamson joked in the caption of the post.

The post swiftly gained traction and prompted an array of amusing reactions from social media users.

“Kane’s humour is top class,” a user wrote. Another user commented, “Love this.”

“This guy has a good sense of humour if you remember his past clips from the internet,” a third user remarked.

“Kane, this is why we love you so much. You manage to find humour and smile in the most difficult situations. India loves you,” a fourth user added.

Meanwhile, Williamson will be missing the next three matches due to his thumb injury and will also not be seen in the clash against India. The game against Bangladesh on Friday was the skipper’s first international outing in more than six months as he was recovering from an ACL injury that he had sustained during the IPL in March.
