BluSmart's impending closure would affect countless users—proving that even an excellent product needs both a solid business model and proper governance to succeed, Parminder Singh said.

Days after BluSmart suspended its cab bookings via app in parts of NCR, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, a former managing director at Google, whose parents were loyal customers of the EV cab service, took to X to share positive reviews about the company and hoped that it would get "rescued" soon.

"My elderly parents in Delhi have an unwavering faith in BluSmart. They refuse to keep a car and driver, saying 'BluSmart hai na'," Parminder Singh, currently the founder and CEO of a Singapore-based company, said. "Whenever they have to go somewhere and I offer to arrange a premium car service I trust, they respond, 'BluSmart hai na. Rental kar lenge.' I don't know exactly what went wrong, but I know they'll be heartbroken when I tell them 'Ab BluSmart nahi hai'."

Singh's perspective gathered more than 2.5 lakh views on X.

In a follow-up post, he added, "I knew BluSmart was popular but didn't realise my experience will touch such a chord. The company's impending closure will affect countless users—proving that even an excellent product needs both a solid business model and proper governance to succeed. Many dedicated people, especially the drivers whom others have acknowledged here, must have worked tirelessly to build this brand and deliver its quality service. It always takes a village. I hope someone steps in to rescue and preserve BluSmart. I would be happy to help in any way I can."

BluSmart, the ride-hailing startup connected to Gensol and once seen as an emerging rival to Ola and Uber, got into hot water after SEBI found that the company had diverted loans worth Rs 200 crore meant for funding BluSmart's electric vehicle purchases to buy a luxury apartment in DLF's The Camellias, Gurugram, and high-end golf equipment worth Rs 26 lakh. The development cast serious doubts over the future of BluSmart.
