In a candid speech during the three-day pre-wedding festivities at Jamanagar, Radhika Merchant said her soon-to-be father-in-law, Mukhesh Ambani, has been like a father figure to her and a champion of her relationship with Anant Ambani.
Radhika Merchant, the younger daughter of Viren Merchant, CEO of Encore Healthcare, and his wife Shaila Merchant has been in a relationship with the youngest son of the Ambani family for seven years.
In a message to "Mukesh Uncle", she said, "You have been a father figure in my life from very early on in our relationship, and I truly hope for everybody that they have a champion for their relationship like you have been a champion for ours."
Addressing her father, Radhika said, "Papa, you are the most encouraging man I know. You have built the confidence of the three women around you with the utmost love and care. The example you have set as a father and husband has shaped my life in so many ways, you will never know."
Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's pre-wedding festivities also saw Mukesh and Nita Ambani perform a dance routine to “Pyar Hua Ikrar Hua” from the 1955 film Shree 420, drawing loud cheers and applause from the audience.

Anant Ambani's wedding to Radhika Merchant is expected to take place in July.
