YouTuber Jimmy Donaldson, popularly known as MrBeast, has raised eyebrows after claiming that he currently has ''negative money''. The entrepreneur, who runs a company worth $5 billion, said that his bank balance is too low to afford a McDonald’s meal.
Speaking to the Wall Street Journal earlier this month, Danaldson shared that he has been borrowing money and excluding the equity value of his company, viewers may have more cash in their bank account than him.
“I’m borrowing money. Technically, everyone watching this video has more money than me in their bank account if you subtract the equity value of my company, which doesn’t buy me McDonald’s in the morning,'' he told the Wall Street Journal.
Following his claim of having negative money, he clarified his earlier statement about keeping just $1 million for personal expenses. “I just don’t really think of it. I wake up, I just work. I’m just so busy working. I don’t really think about my personal bank account, if that makes sense,” he told the Wall Street Journal.
“I’m just laser-focused on making the greatest videos possible and building the business as big as possible,” he added.
