IAS officer Tina Dabi welcomed her first child with husband and fellow IAS officer Pradeep Gawande on September 15, Friday. The couple became proud parents to a baby boy.
Tina Dabi, who topped the UPSC civil service exams in 2015, met Pradeep Gawande – a 2013 batch IAS officer – during the COVID-19 pandemic. The two got married in April 2022 and have now welcomed their first child together a little over one year later.
According to Hindustan Times, Dabi was appointed the first female District Collector of Jaisalmer before she requested a non-field position in Jaipur because of her pregnancy. She said goodbye to Jaisalmer in an Instagram post shared on July 14, writing: “Truly blessed to have got an opportunity to serve this wonderful district for one year as its District Collector and Magistrate.
Sharing glimpses of some cherished moments spent in the district.”
Dabi, an alumni of Delhi's Lady Shri Ram College, came in the limelight after becoming the first Dalit to top the civil services exam. She achieved this feat in her first attempt. Before being appointed District Collector of Jaisalmer, she was the joint secretary in the Rajasthan finance department.
Her younger sister, Ria Dabi, is also an IAS officer who achieved rank 15 in 2021. Ria Dabi had shared photographs from Tina Dabi’s baby shower last week.
