Dr. Pramod S Chinder, Consultant, Surgical Ortho Oncologist, HCG, said, "The patient presented with a large swelling in the knee, which upon evaluation confirmed malignant bone tumor, in the right leg. We took combined solution of technology & expertise, by using the CATS technology, which facilitates precise planning and execution of joint-preserving tumor resection, without damaging the functions of the limb. This technology is very important in preserving the growth in young patients diagnosed with bone cancer. Early detection of malignant bone tumors helps in curing the patients in 60 to 70% of cases and preserving their limbs."
Shreyas, 19 year old Engineering Student, Patient, said, "While cycling back home, in June 2012, the right pedal broke down and I had put lot of pressure on the right leg & cycled back home. I had a pain that night, it continued to increase with time, I had taken some pain killers it didn’t help. Also, I saw swelling in my right, which was growing in size. Before coming to HCG, also I thought I might lose my leg until the oncologist explained to me how my leg would be preserved because a new technology that will help. I fought cancer for a year & I believe one should have a strong will power to fight cancer.
