As Halloween festivities swept through the corporate world, Alphabet and Google CEO Sundar Pichai shared scenes from Google’s own celebrations, adding a playful spin to the holiday spirit. Pichai, taking to Instagram, revealed glimpses from "Howl-o-ween," featuring “Dooglers”—Google employees’ dogs dressed in a variety of themed costumes—who enlivened the office celebrations. Pichai himself joined the occasion, sporting a black T-shirt bearing the phrase “Error 404: Costume Not Found."

This Halloween event follows Pichai’s recent Diwali post, where he expressed his enthusiasm for the Indian festival of lights. “Diwali is one of my favourite times of the year…always fun to fill the house with light. Wish those who celebrate a Happy Diwali,” he shared on Threads.

Meanwhile, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg also marked Halloween, sharing images of his family’s costumes on Facebook. Taking a Hollywood-inspired theme, Zuckerberg dressed as John Wick, the central character from the film franchise, while his family donned ballerina costumes. “When your house full of girls decides to be ballerinas, be John Wick,” Zuckerberg joked.

Halloween, celebrated on October 31, brings together spooky fun and creativity. Originating from the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, it marks the end of harvest and the start of winter, believed to be when spirits could roam the Earth. Today, people of all ages enjoy dressing up in costumes, from classic ghosts and vampires to imaginative characters, for parties, parades, and trick-or-treating. Children gather candy, while homes display carved pumpkins, often with eerie faces and flickering lights.
