A man claimed that online travel booking website Goibibo had sent an SMS notification to his contact list after he had completed a trip.
Writing on X (formerly Twitter), the man, identified as Akash Bhandage-CEO of professional networking site Peerlist-slammed Goibibo for sending the notification to his contact list and called their behavior as "breach of privacy".
"Hello @goibibo @GoibiboSupport , you idiots! How can you send SMS about me completing a trip to my phone contacts? Are you out of your mind?"
"I never gave you explicit consent to do this and I will never do this. This is spamming and breach of privacy!" he wrote on Tuesday.

"Dear Akash, I have experienced them doing this more than 6 years ago as well! Seems they are back to their misdeeds," one user wrote.
"I got some messages like these from friends I haven’t talked to in years. I was like," another user wrote.
"Why did you gave permission to contacts to a travel app? Contacts permission is one of most sensitive permission and this is being misused widely even to blackmail people. Android is a wild forest you have to learn to save yourself," a third user wrote.
