Residents of Bengaluru have been baking under the scorching heat as the IT hub of India is already facing heatwave conditions combined with the acute water shortage. Amid this, a funny tweet by a resident is going viral for all the right reasons.

So, to beat the heat and get some respite, Rishabh Srivastava checked into an Oyo Hotel in the city. Since Bengaluru is known for its pleasant weather, Srivastava called the situation a shift from chill to grill. “Looks like Bangalore weather decided to level up from chill to grill. Can't survive without AC anymore. Checked into @oyorooms as a refuge,” he wrote.

Srivastava’s tweet caught the attention of the hotel chain and it took a hilarious jibe at Bengaluru’s weather. “Bangalore, you had one job. But now, we’re doing it.”

Oyo’s CEO Ritesh Agarwal reshared the post from his official X handle as well.

Meanwhile, Bengaluru faced its highest maximum temperature for March in the past five years. The temperature went as high as 36.4 degrees Celsius in some areas. Amid that, an unidentified man won hearts after a video of him distributing water bottles to the traffic police went viral.

According to Shree Ram Bishnoi, the Bangalore City Police traffic warden who shared the clip on X, the man does this regularly and comes on his scooty to help the on-duty constables in Hebbal as temperatures soar in the city.

“Random person giving away water bottles to traffic constables during this heat. Unsung heroes of Bengaluru,” the caption of the post read.
