Waaree Energies India eye 200 MW solar PV projects in Japan

Waaree Energies Limited, a leading solar PV developer and manufacturer, is developing solar projects of 44 MW AC in Central Japan, under the feed-in tariff with Tokyo Electric Power at 36 Yen per KwH.

METI approval has been obtained for these projects and other approvals are being pursued. The projects are scheduled for completion within the next 18 months. Waaree Japan KK had been setup in early 2014 with base in Tokyo for developing the Japan market for project development and PV module sales.

Waaree Japan KK is pursuing a pipeline of 200 MW in Japan for 2015. Japan is a key market for Waaree, India in addition to UK, Americas and Middle East regions.

With over 25 years of experience in the engineering industry, Hitesh Doshi, Chairman & Managing Director, WAAREE Group, established Waaree Energies in the year 2007 initiating its foray in Renewable Energy and has taken several initiatives to accelerate the company's top-line and bottom-line growth. Waaree Energies' facilities comprise of a 250 MW PV module manufacturing plant in Surat.

In November last year, Waaree announced its collaboration with GT Advanced Technologies for the development of technology and manufacture of products in the solar sector. Under this agreement, the companies plan to develop and deliver to the Indian market innovative solar products incorporating GT Advanced Technologies’ patented Merlin interconnect system.
