Aspiring executives tend to think of mentoring as a one-to-one relationship between a company veteran and an ambitious new employee.
But having a broader network of people to turn to can be a better approach, according to the Harvard Business Review.The Harvard Management Tip of the Day offers quick, practical management tips and ideas from Harvard Business Review and HBR.org. 1. Rather than trying to find one ideal mentor, people should look for a diversity of people who can serve as a "personal board of directors" to guide them through their careers.2.
