Two Congress members who reviewed unredacted portions of the Epstein files on Monday, Friday, 9, revealed that the documents indicate a nine-year-old victim. They added that records reference a foreign government official currently holding a senior position, according to Thomas Massie, a Republican, and Ro Khanna, a Democrat.

After reviewing the files, the two lawmakers held a press conference, saying the documents appear to implicate six men. Massie and Khanna continue to press for the public release of the Epstein records and a vote on the Epstein Files Transparency Act.

Despite President Donald signing it into law, the lawmakers said they are not happy with the redactions. On January 30, the Department of Justice released more than 3 million heavily redacted documents.

The lawmakers call for the full release of the Epstein files

The release contained graphic details, but heavy redactions prompted frustration among survivors and lawmakers calling for the full release of the records. Representative Jamie Raskin, a Maryland Democrat, also joined Massie and Khanna at the DOJ to view the redacted records. Redactions in the Epstein Files mention senior officials and young victims.

The heavily redacted records still contained shocking details, including references to underage victims who had not been publicly identified before. Raskin told reporters he saw mentions of girls as young as nine years old, describing the material as deeply troubling.  "You read through these files, and you read about 15-year-old girls, 14-year-old girls, 10-year-old girls. I saw a mention of a 9-year-old girl today. I mean, this is just preposterous and scandalous," Raskin told reporters.

Speaking about senior officials' references in the files, Massie told reporters that one person holds a high-ranking position in a foreign government. He added a document containing 18 redactions, including information about men born before 1970.

Massie said the extent of the redactions concealed crucial facts and urged the Department of Justice to fix their mistakes. Earlier, survivors used a Super Bowl PSA urging Attorney General PAM BondI to reveal the redacted information.

Ghislaine Maxwell refuses to testify

Ghislaine Maxwell, the former girlfriend of Jeffrey Epstein, who is currently in prison, pleaded the Fifth during a closed-door Capitol Hill hearing. She refused to answer questions linked to Epstein before the House Oversight Committee.
