Fed up after failing to hail a cab via Ola and Uber while rushing to work, a Bengaluru resident decided to get himself "delivered" to his office using Porter -- an app used to transport goods across the country. Not only did it work, it also impressed social media users who called the tactic "genius".
Pathik Ghugare shared his experience with a photograph on X. "Had to porter myself to office today cuz no Ola Uber," he wrote. His post soon went viral and gathered more than 1.5 lakh views.

Several users called it a “genius Bengaluru moment,” and lauded his "innovative idea. "Great innovative idea to reach to work in Bengaluru," said city doctor Sundar Sankaran (@sundar_s1955). "Just when I think people from Bangalore can't surprise me anymore, someone walks in and does something beyond my wildest imagination," content manager Smriti Sahu wrote on LinkedIn.
A few users also shared that they too have had similar thoughts when failing to hail a cab and that Ghugare might have finally inspired them to try "delivering" themselves to their destination. "Finally, someone did what I had once thought of! Might do as well now," X user Priyali Priyadarsini (@periperi_gal) said. Another user Epochsy added, "You know, I sometimes thought to use Porter when I am facing similar issues."
Meanwhile, the good transportation company was also amused at the feat. "Talk about a Bangalore Brainwave!" it wrote on X. "When life gave you no Ola or Uber, you channeled your inner superhero and self-ported to work! Namma Bengaluru, we salute your creativity and problem-solving streak, and kudos to you for sharing this wonderful adventure with us."
