Medical laboratory company Thyrocare's founder and CEO Dr A Velumani on Saturday shared a lesson in humility after he opted to hail a cab service after an event in a five-star hotel where most attendees preferred commuting via luxury cars. The millionaire said that his decision shocked others.

"After dinner, I called for OLA. While waiting, many insisted for selfies. Long queue. All high-end cars of Rich are behind the OLA patiently. When I sat in [an] OLA [cab] it shocked all," Velumani wrote on X, adding that it was past 10.30 pm when he called for the cab.

Urging others to be frugal, the Navi Mumbai-based entrepreneur wrote, "When you are tall. Be cool. Be frugal. Be humble. Rich and famous also respect. EMI gets high-end cars and an artificial high. But OLA gets you peace for sure."

Responding to his post, another founder-CEO based in Mumbai, Akshay Shah (@AkshayiWeb) said, "So I do not own a car, driving is a pain in Mumbai, parking double pain, why take this headache when we just need our body to be moved from 1 place to another, can move in own car or rental does not matter."

Another X user Bhupinder Singh (@bhupinder2singh) said, "Rich and famous should never worry about what they wear, what they eat and which car they move. People who want to be rich and famous do all these things."
