An instant rasam paste advertisement posted at the back of a bus in Bengaluru left an X (formerly Twitter) user unamused as he felt that the ad was sexist and insulted both the north Indian and south Indian population.
The ad featured a man with a curious expression and a text that read "Wife North Indianaaa?" thereby perhaps suggesting a solution to make rasam instantly.
"Today in ads that manage to be sexist while also insulting both North and South India (from r/bangalore)," the user identified as Tejas Dinkar captioned his post, with the image of the ad.

"Not sure if it's offensive to the millions where the wife is a north Indian home maker. We need to stop taking offence at every opportunity," one user wrote.
"In the grand scheme of possible microaggressions in India, as a half north half southie, it's not that deep bro," another user wrote.
"Making rasam is a little complex process. Hence, if the wife is a stranger to the southern cuisine, you can use the mix. The ad promotes national integration. It encourages marriage ties between North & South," a third user wrote.
