Industrialist Anil Agarwal on Wednesday penned an emotional note for his daughter Priya Agarwal Hebbar on her birthday. The founder and chairman of Vedanta wrote that he is proud to see her leading the company with dedication and passion.
"Priya, I remember how as a kid, you used to feed the dogs and cats in our neighbourhood with such care (and still do)," Agarwal wrote on LinkedIn.
"My heart swells with pride when I watch you lead Vedanta with dedication and passion. Your love for animals and our Mother Earth makes you the best leader in the ESG (environmental, social, and governance) space."
Priya Agarwal Hebbar is currently the director of Vedanta Resources, and founder of animal welfare organisations YODA and TACO.
"It is such a joy to see you give your all into everything you do, as a daughter, a wife, Mahi’s mother, but most importantly…as a human being. Thank you for the happiness that you have brought into all of our lives," Anil Agarwal added.
"Happy birthday, beti. Hope you achieve everything you dream of, and more!"

The Vedanta chief has never shied away from sharing his family's contribution to his business and their accomplishments. Last month, he revealed how his family supported him while he struggled to get Vedanta listed on the London Stock Exchange.
The entrepreneur said that his wife thought he was crazy when he told her that they were moving to London overnight. "She went to our daughter Priya's school and asked them for a six-month leave because she was sure we would be back by then. She still arranged everything without a doubt--always my biggest support system," the 68-year-old said.
Emphasing the role of his parents, Agarwal added, "My Babuji always taught me to focus on the journey, and not the ending. 'As long as you are enjoying the ride you are on, you will find your way,' he would tell me."
"I did not have much when I arrived in London, but I had one thing--the belief and blessings of my parents." With that encouragement, Agarwal knew that if he could make a name for himself in Mumbai, he could do it again in London.
