The online shopping industry has grown exponentially in the past decade or more as customers have found it easier to shop online because of product availability at discounted prices and home delivery, which has reduced the need to spend time on travel.

However, sometimes products purchased and delivered on online delivery platforms can leave customers baffled as was the case recently when a man ordered a laptop on Amazon, worth Rs 1 lakh, and claimed to have received a used laptop.

Writing on X (formerly Twitter), the man said that he had been "scammed" by the online delivery platform and claimed that Amazon had delivered a used laptop, whose warranty had started in December 2023.

"I was scammed By Amazon! @amazonIN selling used products as new. Today I received a "new" laptop from Amazon, but it had already been used and the warranty started in December 2023," the man wrote on the social media platform.

The man got a reply from Amazon, who apologised for the experience and asked for a few details as well as requesting for 6-12 hours to reply.

The customer, however, was in no mood to listen and replied by asking Amazon to back the laptop and give him a refund.
This is not the first instance in which a customer has been left disappointed after receiving an incorrect/faulty product after ordering online.

In December last year, a man had ordered Sony noise cancelling headphones on Amazon and received a Colgate toothpaste tube, instead.
