The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) won their maiden Women's Premier League (WPL) title on Sunday after defeating Delhi Capitals (DC) by eight wickets in the final at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Sunday.
The franchise, which had finished in fourth place in the points table in the inaugural WPL season, took the difficult path to victory after beating 2023 champions Mumbai Indians in a thrilling eliminator clash on Friday before defeating DC in the summit clash on Sunday.
Social media was overjoyed at the side's victory on Sunday with several former RCB men's team players such as AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle as well as many others from the cricket fraternity congratulating the team for their win.
