The Smriti Mandhana-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) clinched their maiden Women's Premier League (WPL) title on Sunday, defeating Delhi Capitals (DC) by eight wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
Following the victory, former RCB captain and batting mainstay Virat Kohli sent his congratulatory wishes for the team, referring to them as "Superwomen" in an Instagram story on Sunday.

Chasing 114 runs for victory, RCB reached the target with three balls to spare with all rounder Ellyse Perry remaining unbeaten on 35 runs off 37 balls. A key factor behind the side chasing a sub-par total on Sunday was the performance of their spin quartet-Sophie Molinuex, Shreyanka Patil, Asha Sobhana and Georgia Wareham- who shared nine out out of the 10 wickets between them to ensure DC never had found momentum in their innings.
RCB had reached the final after beating 2023 champions Mumbai Indians by five runs in the eliminator clash on Friday.
Kohli has played every season for RCB in the Indian Premier League (IPL) since the tournament's inception in 2008 and is yet to lift the trophy, despite reaching three finals in 2009, 2011 and 2016.
