Qualcomm has sued Apple claiming that the iPhone maker had shared its code to its rival Intel.
Qualcomm, the US firm that designs and markets wireless telecommunication products and services has claimed that Apple had breached the terms of the software license.
As per a report in Bloomberg stated that according to Qualcomm, Apple had used its unprecedented access to the company’s code to aid Intel corp.
Qualcomm filed a lawsuit against Apple in California state court in San Diego for breaching of a contract that deals with the use of software needed to make chips work with other parts of mobile phones and communicate with networks.

According to the suit, Apple, who has already failed to protect the software in Qualcomm chips is also resisting the latter’s attempt to audit and review how the iPhone maker deals with the software. Adding that this is a breach of the contract signed by the two sides, Qualcomm claims that an Apple engineer working with a competitor asked a colleague to request information from Qualcomm about the data downloading technology.
The recent conflict between the two firms will further deepen the dispute. Earlier Apple had accused Qualcomm of charging high rates for its services. Apple also sued Qualcomm for over Rs 100 crore and had stopped paying the royalty charges, an act the latter termed as a tactic to exert pressure in order to decrease the charges.
It also had emerged recently that Apple will not be using Qualcomm’s software for its iPhone products that will be released next year.
