Vivo S50 and Vivo S50 Pro Mini with Snapdragon 8 series SoC announced: Price, specifications

Vivo has unveiled the S50 and S25 Pro Mini smartphones in China. These smartphones succeed the Vivo S30 series smartphones, and are powered by Snapdragon 8 series chips, 6500 mAh batteries, and Android 16 OS.

Vivo S50 Pro Mini and the standard Vivo S50 have been officially launched in China as the latest additions to the company’s S series. Both smartphones succeed the Vivo S30 and Vivo S30 Pro Mini. Both these phones will be available via the Vivo online store. The Vivo S50 is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC, while the S50 Pro mini is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset.

Vivo S50, Vivo S50 Pro Mini: Price

Vivo S50 has a starting price of CNY 2,999 (around Rs 39,000) for the base variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. It has three other variants, with the top-of-the-line 16+512GB variant costing CNY 3,599 (around Rs 46,000). On the other hand, the Vivo S50 Pro Mini costs CNY 3,699 (around Rs 48,000) for the base model with 12GB RAM + 256GB storage. Its top-end option with 16GB RAM + 512GB costs CNY 4,299 (around Rs 55,000).

Vivo S50, Vivo S50 Pro Mini: Specifications, features

The Vivo S50 features a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1,600 nits HBM brightness. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC, and the phone has a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera. For selfies, it has a 50MP front camera. The phone packs a 6,500mAh battery with support for 90W fast wired charging.

Meanwhile, the Vivo S50 Pro Mini sports a smaller 6.31-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1,800 nits HBM brightness. It is powered by the newly unveiled Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC, and is backed by the same 6,500mAh battery with support for 90W wired fast charging and 40W wireless charging. For optics, the smartphone packs a similar 50MP primary sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens, alongside a 50MP front camera. These smartphones will be available in China from December 19.
