PUBG Mobile beta version 1.0 is bringing the long-awaited Erangel 2.0 map update. The new version was confirmed by the PUBG Mobile team on its official Discord channel. The team also posted a brief introduction of Erangel 2.0. The new 1.0 update is currently only available for Android users but will be available on iOS soon. Apart from the new map, the update also brings changes to the Livik map, Cheer Park as well as improvements to the UI.
Erangel 2.0 is getting upgraded graphics, while there will also be changes to the buildings in terms of design including the areas like Mylta Power, Quarry, Prison, and others. Players will also see abandoned tanks, trenches, barricades, and other additions to the map.
The Livik map is also getting a few improvements, while Cheer Park has been revamped with showdowns and more. A new M1014 weapon is also arriving alongside some balancing changes and bug fixes. While the updates coming to PUBG Mobile are minimal, Erangle 2.0 is a massive update since its previous revamp last year.
Apart from the new update, PUBG Mobile is also getting a new 90fps mode; the game was previously only playable at 60fps. This will be a huge benefit for players with phones with high refresh rate displays. Tencent Games is adding support for 90fps in the US and other countries, but there’s a catch.
Specifically, only OnePlus users will get a chance to play the game at 90fps. The list of devices which will support the 90fps frame rates will include the OnePlus 8 Pro, OnePlus 8, OnePlus 7T, and OnePlus 7 Pro. The OnePlus 7T Pro seems to be missing from the list but will likely make it when the mode arrives in regions where the device is available.
The OnePlus Nord is missing from this list, understandably considering its mid-range Snapdragon 765G SoC. Tencent Games has confirmed that the 90fps mode will arrive on other smartphones that support the high refresh rate after the OnePlus deal expires, on September 7.
