When Apple announces a product, they usually obtain the domain name that resembles the product name. In the past, Apple has been proactive in securing domains, such as iPhone.com and a host of others. The brand however, had a difficult time securing the iPhone4S.com domain, as it had been associated with a pornographic website. As is the case with most claims, Apple won it, allowing them to secure that domain name, too. This year Apple is set to debut their next-generation flagship handset that is expected to be called the iPhone 5. However, this domain had already been used by a fan forum site. Earlier on this month, Apple sought to gain access of this domain by filing a case with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), as it could be the probable name of their next handset. The brand aimed to gain access to it, so that if a fan typed the name in a browser, they would not be directed to a porn site or a malicious website. As per a report by The Next Web, Apple has secured the web domain - iPhone5.com.Click here for full story
