The MoU was exchanged by Nikhil Nirmal, MD of WBSIDCL, and Sudatta Mandal, deputy managing director, SIDBI, in the presence of HK Dwivedi, chief secretary of the West Bengal, during the MSME sectoral session of Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS), held in Kolkata on April 21, 2022.
The MoU envisages SDF and SIDBI to work together in co-funding of projects in Indian MSMEs on risk sharing basis in identified sectors, development of suitable financial products for SME financing for MSMEs of other Saarc states, the Finance Ministry said in a statement.
The listing holds significance as it is the first time that Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), which finances small companies, acted as a merchant banker for a public issue by an SME. Following the listing of the firm , the National Stock Exchange (NSE) Emerge platform for SMEs now has 10 companies listed on it.
The Reserve Bank today said it has allowed Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) to raise up to USD 500 million per annum (about Rs 2,700 crore) through External Commercial Borrowing (ECB) to fund small and medium scale industry.
