Except metal and media (up 1 percent each), all other sectoral indices ended in the red with auto, bank, IT, telecom, pharma, and realty down 1-2 percent.
For the week, BSE Sensex and Nifty50 indices shed 1.5 percent each.
INR ended 12 paise lower at 75.90 per dollar on April 8 against its March 31 closing of 75.78.
