The virtual FATF plenary will be held in Paris from February 22 to 25 to consider cases of various countries on the grey list, including Pakistan, and a decision will be made at the conclusion of the meetings
The crackdown in Punjab province, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's power base and the headquarters of Jaish-e-Mohammad, follows the arrest this week of several members of the militant group, including its leader, Maulana Masood Azhar, an Islamist hardliner and long-time foe of India.
On Wednesday, India had deferred a decision on whether to go ahead with the Foreign Secretary-level talks with Pakistan on Friday after the detention of "several individuals" of the dreaded Jaish-e-Mohammad by Islamabad although there was no confirmation of reports that its chief Maulana Masood Azhar was held.
News of the arrests comes 48 hours before a rare meeting of foreign secretaries of the nuclear-armed rivals is tentatively scheduled to take place.
Sartaj Aziz, Foreign Policy Adviser to Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, has said that the foreign secretary talks would be held on January 15 but National Security Adviser Ajit Doval was quoted as having said that talks can be held only after action, a stand from which he has distanced himself later.
