Bumble has introduced an AI assistant called Bee that learns users’ values and relationship goals through conversations to recommend better matches, as the dating app experiments with moving beyond swipe-based matchmaking.
Bumble says it will save around $40 million a year from these job cuts. The plan is to use that money to improve the app and add better features. However, the company will also spend between $13 million and $18 million to manage the layoffs.
The move, which will affect 240 roles, or 30% of Bumble's staff, is part of a broader effort to revamp the platform
