The Jammu and Kashmir L-G's office announced: "All pending JKBOSE Examinations session 2020-21 (Regular/Private) for final exams of class XI and XII across JKUT for which examination/results are awaited, are cancelled."
The decision comes after the cancellation of the board exams by CBSE, which was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 1.

The decision has been taken on the recommendation of a committee comprising Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary School Education and education department officials as well as experts in the field, and Class 10 marks would be allotted based on the internal assessment of examinations held in academic year 2020-21, CM Pramod Sawant said.
The notification said that marks will be allocated to Class 10 students on the basis of assignments issued by the board. If any student has not done the assignments or has not obtained minimum passing marks in the assignment, then they will be given minimum passing marks.

For Indian students giving their Class X and Class XII board examinations in 2021, there is a constant fear of exams being postponed and results being delayed due to the second wave of COVID-19.
Apart from the CBSE board, many states have also postponed or cancelled their state board exams while some states have decided to conduct as per schedule.
State boards are undecided on the fresh schedule for Class X and Class XII exams, even though they are only a few weeks away. Maharashtra and Rajasthan are among the states that have decided to postpone the board exams. However, fresh dates are yet to be announced.

Education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said that the board exams for Class Xth to be held from May 4-June 14, 2021 are hereby cancelled. The results of Class X board will be prepared on the basis of an objective criterion to be developed by the CBSE board.
