Doval's visit is reportedly intended to prepare details for Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Delhi later this year. However, President Trump’s latest action is expected to dominate talks, including the issue of supply of Russian oil.

The SRs are expected to explore solutions for managing peace along the border and find a mutually acceptable resolution to the boundary issue, as agreed in the Modi-Xi meeting.

These were decided in a January 30 meeting of the US-India initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology (iCET) and later this year, the two countries will hold the next iCET meeting in New Delhi this year.
In an address at the inaugural India-Central Asia meeting of national security advisors, Doval also said that all UN member states should refrain from providing any form of support to entities or persons involved in terrorist acts and fulfil the obligations enshrined in relevant counter-terror conventions.
