NASA said it "has an interagency agreement with AFWERX to use the aircraft for testing concentrated on how such vehicles could fit into the national airspace." The space agency emphasised the potential of air taxis and drones, highlighting their roles in emergency response, wildfire management, and medical supply delivery.
The minister said that the Defence Ministry, the Home Ministry and BCAS (Bureau of Civil Aviation Security) have been working together so that "counter rogue drone technology" can be developed and adopted quickly.
At the moment, they won’t be replacing the black and yellow taxis that ply on roads, but that future isn’t far off either.
