Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren resigned from the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) on Wednesday, citing dissatisfaction with the party’s current functioning and policies as the reason for his departure.
Champai Soren, who is set to join the BJP on August 30, also stepped down as an MLA and a minister in the Jharkhand Cabinet.
In his resignation statement, Champai Soren expressed his continued commitment to advocating for the rights of tribals, Dalits, and marginalized communities in Jharkhand. He notified JMM chief Shibu Soren of his resignation, citing grievances over the party’s operations.
Additionally, Soren informed the Speaker of his resignation from the state assembly and sent a separate resignation letter to Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
