The Delhi CM, in his letter to the Tihar jail officials, alleged that the prison authorities were being deceptive under "political pressure".

A Delhi Court on April 22 declined a petition moved by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal seeking direction to Tihar Jail officials to administer insulin and allow him to consult through video conferencing daily for 15 minutes concerning his acute diabetes and fluctuating blood sugar level.

Earlier in the day, Kejriwal penned a letter to Tihar Jail authorities, highlighting his concern that despite informing them about his spiking sugar levels, he was not being administered insulin as necessary, as per AAP sources. He alleged that the prison authorities were being deceptive under "political pressure".

The AAP national convenor disputed the assertion made by the jail authorities that AIIMS doctors had deemed his health condition unproblematic. Referring to newspaper reports, he voiced dismay over what he labeled as "incorrect and misleading statements" made by prison officials regarding his health. He claimed that these statements related to his requests for insulin administration and assertions from AIIMS doctors regarding the severity of his health condition.

On April 19, the jail administration submitted a report to Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, indicating that Arvind Kejriwal's health had been evaluated by a medicine specialist on April 10 and April 15. The specialist prescribed oral anti-diabetic medications and clarified that Kejriwal had never been refused insulin during his treatment.
