Rajya Sabha member Swati Maliwal, who has accused Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s aide Bibhav Kumar of assaulting her, that she does not intend to quit the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Speaking to The Indian Express, the former DCW chief said that the Aam Aadmi Party does not belong to two-three individuals.
Maliwal had alleged that on May 13, she was assaulted by Kumar when she went to meet Kejriwal at his residence. Kumar has been booked by the police and is currently in judicial custody.
Maliwal also denied claims by the AAP that she reached the CM’s residence without an appointment, trespassed, and misbehaved while forcibly trying to meet the CM.
“No one can enter the CM’s office residence if security personnel do not allow them to enter. I did not force my way into the CM’s office by fighting with security officials. If I was trespassing, how did I reach the drawing room of the CM’s residence?” she said.
On Sunday, Maliwal accused the party leadership of trying to intimidate her into withdrawing her complaint. She also expressed disappointment with Dhruv Rathee, saying that despite her efforts to contact him and share her side of the story, he ignored her calls and messages.
