YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as “BeerBiceps’, has moved the Supreme Court to club multiple FIRs filed nationwide against him over his controversial remarks on 'India’s Got Latent'.
On Friday, a Supreme Court bench comprising Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice Sanjay Kumar heard the mention of Ranveer Allahbadia’s plea, with senior lawyer Abhinav Chandrachud, son of former chief justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud, representing him.
“I have assigned the bench and it will come up (before a bench) in two-three days,” the CJI said when Chandrachud submitted that the Assam police has summoned Allahbadia for joining the probe during the day, PTI reported.
Who is Abhinav Chandrachud?
Abhinav Chandrachud comes from a distinguished judicial lineage, with his father serving as Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court before ascending to the role of Chief Justice of India.
A distinguished scholar, he holds a Doctor of the Science of Law (JSD) and a Master of the Science of Law (JSM) degrees from Stanford Law School, where he was a Franklin Family Scholar.
As per his LinkedIn profile, Chandrachud graduated from Government Law College, Mumbai, in 2008 and later earned his Master of Laws (LLM) from Harvard Law School as a Dana Scholar.
The son of the former CJI has also worked as an associate attorney at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, a global law firm.
Apart from his legal practice, Chandrachud has also authored a number of books including Republic of Rhetoric: Free Speech and the Constitution of India (2017) and Supreme Whispers: Conversations with Judges of the Supreme Court of India 1980-1989 (2018).

Podcaster Allahbadia’s remarks on parents and sex on comedian Samay Raina’s YouTube show ‘India’s Got Latent’ triggered a massive controversy and several FIRs have been lodged against him and others in various parts of the country.
Besides Allahbadia and Raina, others named in the case in Assam are Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh and Apoorva Makhija.
