Retired armyman dies after terrorists fire at him, his family in J&K's Kulgam district

The terrorists opened fired at Manzoor Ahmad Wagay, his wife and cousin in the Behibagh area of the district, say officials.

An ex-serviceman was killed while two women, including his wife and cousin, sustained gunshot injuries in a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district on Monday, officials said.

The terrorists opened fired at Manzoor Ahmad Wagay, his wife and cousin in the Behibagh area of the district, they said.

All three were rushed to a hospital where Wagay succumbed to his injuries, the officials said.

According to reports, the retired army man, who was shot in the abdomen, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. His wife and daughter, who sustained bullet wounds to their legs, are being treated in the hospital, and their condition has been described as stable.

After the militant attack, a contingent of police, army and CRPF men reached the attack site and launched a cordon and search operation to track down the attackers.
