India’s ₹10,371 crore IndiaAI Mission, launched to "Make AI in India, Make AI for India," is a comprehensive initiative aimed at democratizing AI development. With a focus on indigenous AI models, startup funding, AI-ready data platforms, and AI infrastructure, this mission seeks to position India as a global AI powerhouse. Modi’s presence at the summit allows India to showcase its AI advancements, attract investments, and shape international AI norms in line with its mission.

Global AI governance and India’s role

At the summit, India is co-chairing the AI Governance working group alongside France and Canada, reinforcing its commitment to responsible AI development.
