Mithun Chakraborty, Venkaiah Naidu conferred Padma Bhushan; Here's the full list of recipients

Chakraborty joined the BJP in the presence of PM Modi at Kolkata's historic Brigade Parade Ground on March 7, 2021.

President Droupadi Murmu, on April 22, bestowed the prestigious Padma Vibhushan award upon actor and former Rajya Sabha MP Mithun Chakraborty in the field of Arts at the Rashtrapati Bhawan.

Meanwhile, former Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and Bharatnatyam dancer Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam were honoured with the Padma Vibhushan award at the Civil Investiture Ceremony headed by President Murmu.

Renowned singer Usha Uthup was also conferred with the Padma Bhushan award in the field of Arts.

Earlier this January, Chakraborty was announced as one of the recipients of the Padma Bhushan Awards for 2024. He joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) party in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Kolkata's historic Brigade Parade Ground on March 7, 2021.

For 2024, President Murmu approved the conferment of 132 Padma Awards, including two duo cases (where the Award is counted as one). The list includes five Padma Vibhushan, 17 Padma Bhushan, and 110 Padma Shri Awards. Among the awardees, 30 are women, and there are also eight individuals from the category of Foreigners/NRI/PIO/OCI, as well as nine Posthumous awardees.

• Bindeshwar Pathak (Posthumous) in the field of Social Work. Wife of the late Bindeshwar Pathak, Amola Pathak received the award.
• M Venkaiah Naidu in the field of Public Affairs
• Rezwana Choudhury Bannya in the field of Arts
• Naseem Bano, Gita Roy Barman in the field of Arts
• Rohan Bopanna in the field of Sports
• Drona Bhuyan in the field of Arts
• Gopinath Swain in the field of Arts
• Narayanan EP in the field of Arts
• Satendra Singh Lohia in the field of sports
• Ram Chet Chaudhary in the field of Science & Engineering
