It is the dream of many students to get entry into the IIT, NIT, IIIT etc. For a boy from New Delhi, the chase for his dream to IIT got more interesting after he received a bizarre offer from his father. The boy shared a post on the social media platform, Reddit, and the netizens could not keep calm. With a hand-written note as proof, he shared the interesting post with the title– “My Father made a declaration."
According to the Reddit user, who goes by the name, Upset_Design_8656, his father put it in writing that if he gets into a top-tier institute like IIT, NIT, IIIT, or BITS Pilani, he will receive 40 per cent of his father’s salary every month until retirement. But the offer from the father came up with a twist. His father, while offering his 40 percent of the salary, demanded that if his son ends up in a tier-two or tier-three college, then he will have to hand over 100 per cent of his salary to his father until his own retirement.
The post quickly went viral on Reddit, drawing hilarious reactions. One user joked, “Uncle LIC agent hain kya itni khatarnak scheme nikal rhe.” Another called it “Retirement plans 101.” A third user humorously speculated, “Fees bharenge fir bolenge beta 40% tumhari fees bharne mai hi ja rahe hai.”
However, the Reddit user later declared that the letter is just a fun banter, that he and his dad often do with each other. He also recalled another instance where he had promised his dad that he would get more than 90 percent in class 10th, and his dad had promised to take him on a trip if he would just wake up early. As the son puts it, “It’s all in good fun, guys – we make promises to our parents, but in my dad’s case, he wants everything in writing!”
