A video of Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar’s instructions to a crowd in Purnea during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit has garnered significant attention across social media platforms.
In the video, the Bihar chief minister can be seen asking the crowd to give PM Modi a standing ovation for the development projects initiated by the central government for the state.
The Prime Minister was at Purnea in eastern Bihar yesterday where he launched and laid the foundation stones of several projects worth Rs 36,000 crore.
“I once again congratulate and thank him (PM Modi). He is doing so much for the entire country and also for Bihar,” Nitish Kumar said.
“Zara khada ho kar ke inko ek baar pranaam kariye. Khada hoke pranaam kariye (Stand up and pay your respects to him once),” he added.
After some people did not adhere to his advice, the chief minister doubled down and said, “Khaahe baithe hue ho? Ae, khada ho! Waha baithe hue ho, khada ho. Khada hoke bolo. (Why are you sitting? You there, stand up! Over there also, get up. Stand up and say it!)”

‘Will not go anywhere’: Nitish Kumar assures PM Modi
The chief minister, meanwhile, also assured his commitment to the BJP-led NDA, announcing, “I am now back. And, I will not go anywhere henceforth…”
“The JDU-BJP combine formed a government in Bihar, for the first time, in November 2005. For one or two times, I went to the other side, upon prodding of some of my own party colleagues, one of whom is sitting here,” Nitish said, pointing towards union minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh ‘Lalan’, whom he replaced as the party’s national president nearly two years ago.
PM Modi in Bihar
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched multiple development projects worth around Rs 40,000 crore in Bihar's Purnea district on Monday, saying the projects “spanning railways, airports, electricity and water” will serve as a means to fulfill the aspirations of the Seemanchal region.
The PM also inaugurated a newly developed terminal building at Purnea airport, which will enhance passenger handling capacity in the region. Modi flagged off the first flight on the Purnea-Kolkata route.
Modi laid the foundation stone for a 3x800 MW thermal power facility worth Rs 25,000 crore at Pirpainti, Bhagalpur. This is the state's largest private sector investment.
The PM also laid the foundation stone for Phase 1 of the Kosi-Mechi Intra-State River Link Project worth over Rs 2,680 crore.
