Senior leader Jairam Ramesh stated that eliminating all sources of terrorism in Pakistan and PoK must remain “unwavering and guided by the supreme national interest,” and reaffirmed the party’s “fullest support” for the government since the Pahalgam attack on April 22.

Mallikarjun Kharge echoed this sentiment, praising the armed forces’ “resolute courage” in striking terror camps and calling for national unity and solidarity.

In the pre‑dawn hours today, India’s Army, Navy and Air Force executed Operation Sindoor, an unprecedented joint strike on nine terrorist camps across Pakistan and Pakistan‑occupied Kashmir. Launched at approximately 1:44 am, the coordinated assault marks the first time since the 1971 war that all three services have operated in unison against targets over the border.

The operation was ordered in direct retaliation for the April  22 Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 civilian lives, most of them tourists.

According to defence officials, precision‑guided munitions and loitering drones were used to neutralize infrastructure linked to cross‑border terror outfits, while deliberately avoiding any Pakistani military or civilian installations to prevent broader escalation.

A detailed briefing by the Indian Army is scheduled later today.
