In a major crackdown on the banned terrorist outfit Hizb ut Tahrir (HuT), the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has attached a property in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, belonging to one of the accused involved in an alleged plot to establish an Islamic Caliphate in India.

The property, associated with Bava Bahrudeen alias Mannai Bava, was attached under Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, the NIA said in a statement. Located at 58H Ashrath Awliya, Manshoor Thaikkal, Gandhiji Road, the land was originally owned by the Hazarat Sams Manssor Peer Avuliya Dargah Trust Board and was 'sold' to Bahrudeen without official registration, according to the agency.

This action is part of a broader investigation into a Tamil Nadu-based conspiracy linked to HuT operatives allegedly working to disrupt national security.

Uttar Pradesh’s first AYUSH University, located in Gorakhpur, will be inaugurated by President Droupadi Murmu on July 1. Developed as part of CM Yogi Adityanath’s vision, the ₹267.50 crore facility spans 52 acres and aims to promote medical tourism, traditional medicine education, herbal cultivation, and evidence-based research in AYUSH disciplines.

The university will offer degree and diploma programs across various systems of traditional medicine and will also focus on clinical research to enhance patient outcomes. Ahead of the President's visit, elaborate security and traffic arrangements have been put in place in the city.

BJP MLA from Telangana's Goshamahal, T Raja Singh, on Monday resigned from the primary membership of the party citing deep disappointment over the alleged appointment of Ramchander Rao as the party's state president.

In his resignation letter addressed to BJP Telangana chief G. Kishan Reddy, Raja Singh expressed disappointment, stating that the decision had not only shocked him but also deeply hurt lakhs of BJP karyakartas (workers), leaders, and voters.

Two people have been killed after a pickup truck skidded into a deep gorge in a village here, police said on Monday, PTI reported.
