In a major crackdown on the banned terrorist outfit Hizb ut Tahrir (HuT), the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has attached a property in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, belonging to one of the accused involved in an alleged plot to establish an Islamic Caliphate in India.
The property, associated with Bava Bahrudeen alias Mannai Bava, was attached under Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, the NIA said in a statement. Located at 58H Ashrath Awliya, Manshoor Thaikkal, Gandhiji Road, the land was originally owned by the Hazarat Sams Manssor Peer Avuliya Dargah Trust Board and was 'sold' to Bahrudeen without official registration, according to the agency.
This action is part of a broader investigation into a Tamil Nadu-based conspiracy linked to HuT operatives allegedly working to disrupt national security.
