Delhi wakes up to moderate air quality; Noida and Ghaziabad AQI ‘satisfactory'

In Delhi, the overall AQI at around 7 am on Saturday stood at 195.

On Saturday morning, most monitoring stations in the Delhi-NCR region reported moderate to poor air quality, with a shallow layer of fog covering the skies.

The overall AQI in Delhi was 195 at 7 a.m. on Saturday, with the Mandir Marg monitoring station recording the best air quality at 136, according to the Centre's Sameer app. The Bawana monitoring station recorded the region's poorest air quality, with an AQI reading of 270.

An AQI between 0 and 50 is considered "good," 51-100 "satisfactory," 101-200 "moderate," 201-300 "poor," 301-400 "very poor," and 401-500 "severe."

The wind speed is predicted to be less than 8 km/h in the morning, gradually increasing to 12 to 14 km/h in the afternoon. Wind speeds will drop to less than 10 km/h by evening, and smog or mist will most likely form at night.

The highest and minimum temperatures in Delhi are forecast to be about 22 and 8 degrees Celsius, respectively. On Friday, Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 8.6 degrees Celsius.

Weather in Noida and Ghaziabad

Both Noida and Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh cities adjacent to Delhi, recorded 'satisfactory' air quality, with AQIs of 100 and 96, respectively.

Sector 116 in Noida had the region's finest air quality, with an AQI of 85 on Saturday morning. The day's forecast predicts a minimum temperature of 9.16 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 23.58 degrees Celsius.

A thin layer of fog and mist will settle over Ghaziabad by morning, with clear skies forecast later in the day. The maximum and lowest temperatures are anticipated to be 23°C and 11°C, respectively.

Saturday's air quality ranged from satisfactory to moderate. Sanjay Nagar monitoring station recorded the city's best air quality index of 85 on the Sameer app, reported Hindustan Times.

The Sameer app's data from three monitoring stations shows that Gurugram's air quality is still moderate to poor. Teri Gram station recorded the worst AQI reading of 241 as of 7 am on Saturday.

The day's forecast indicates a minimum and maximum temperature of 9.02 degrees Celsius and 22.44 degrees Celsius, respectively.
