Two Delhi University colleges on May 23 received bomb threats.

According to the Delhi Fire Service, calls were received regarding bomb threats at Lady Shri Ram College and Sri Venkateswara College. Fire tenders and Delhi Police reached the spot after the threat call.

The Delhi Police later termed these calls as "bogus" and said there was no need to worry. "Some calls were received regarding bomb threats in colleges. All are bogus calls. No need to worry," the police said.

Earlier today, three five-star hotels based out of Bengaluru also got bomb threat. The hotels reportedly received the threat via email, leading to exhaustive search operations. It later turned out to be a hoax, PTI reported citing police sources.

On May 22, a bomb threat sent alarm bells ringing in the North Block, which houses the home ministry office, but was declared a hoax after nothing objectionable was found.

The threat was received through an email around 3.30 pm by a senior officer posted at the ministry.

It was written in the email that the "building will explode as a bomb is planted", a police officer said and added that the IP address and other details of the mail are being checked.
