Airbus posted,"Airbus regrets to confirm that an A350-900 operated by Japan Airlines was involved in an accident during flight #JAL516 from Sapporo New Chitose Airport to Haneda International Airport shortly after 17:47 (local time) on 02 January 2024. All 367 passengers and 12 crew members on-board evacuated the aircraft. The A350 collided with a DHC-8 aircraft at landing in Haneda. The Japanese authorities have since confirmed that sadly five of the six people on board the DHC-8 did not survive. The exact circumstances of the event are still unknown."

Also, anti-fog devices should be installed. Supreme Court has today directed to supply the copy of PIL to the Attorney General of India and within four week, the Attorney General of India shall apprise the Supreme Court of the train safety measures, as to what steps the government has taken," says advocate Vishal Tiwari.

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) will create four new sectors close to the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar in 2024 by creating a land bank, officials said. The Met office on Tuesday, Jan 2, said the minimum temperature in Delhi was around 8.3 degrees Celsius, a notch above normal, on a windy morning in the national capital.

Uttarakhand has reported two new cases of Covid-19, the state authorities have confirmed. A 77-year-old man admitted to Max Hospital, in Dehradun, tested positive on Saturday, December 30, while a 72-year-old female patient tested positive on Sunday, new year's eve.

PM Modi will also lay the foundation of a few road development projects:

1) 31 km-long four-lane road from Mugaiyur to Marakkanam of NH-332A, which will connect ports on the east coast of Tamil Nadu, enhance road connectivity to the world heritage site of Mamallapuram, and provide better connectivity to the Kalpakkam atomic power plant.

2) Petroleum and natural gas projects worth more than Rs 9,000 crore

Apart from the above, PM Modi will also inaugurate the General Cargo Berth-II of the Kamarajar port and a 500-bed boys hostel of the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Tiruchirappalli.

PM will inaugurate five road projects:

1) A 39 km-long four-lane road for the Trichy-Kallagam section of National Highway (NH)-81

2) 60 km-long Kallagam-Meensuruti section of NH-81

3) 29 km-long four-lane road for the Chettikulam-Natham section of NH-785

4) 80 km-long two lane with ‘paved shoulder’ in the Karaikudi-Ramanathapuram section of NH-536

5) 44 km-long four-lane section of NH-179A Salem-Tirupattur-Vaniyambadi Road.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, PM Modi will:

1) Participate in the 38th convocation ceremony of Bharathidasan University

2) Inaugurate multiple railway projects including the doubling of the 41.4 km-long Salem-Magnesite Junction-Omalur-Mettur Dam section

3) Doubling of 160 km-long rail line in the Madurai-Tuticorin section

4) 3 projects for railway line electrification – Tiruchirappalli-Manamadurai-Virudhunagar, Virudhunagar-Tenkasi Junction, and Sengottai-Tenkasi Junction-Tirunelveli-Tiruchendur.

PM Modi will inaugurate new terminal building at Tiruchirappalli airport, in Tamil Nadu, and will lay the foundation for a slew of projects. The new two-level terminal has been built at a cost of over Rs 1,100 crore with state-of-the-art amenities and can serve more than 44 lakh passengers annually and around 3,500 during peak hours.

The IMD has predicted light to moderate rainfall over south Tamil Nadu, south Kerala, and Lakshadweep over the course of the next 2-3 days with isolated heavy rainfall over Lakshadweep between January 1 and 4, and Kerala on January 1 and 4. There could also be light isolated rainfall over Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh between January 2 and 5, and over Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha between January 3 and 5.

According to the IMD, dense to very dense fog conditions have been predicted across Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, North East India, and a few other regions.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has cautioned about a cold wave in parts of central India for the month of January and dense fog days over parts of northwest and east India until January 4.
