The Union cabinet on October 11 approved the establishment of an autonomous body known as 'Mera Yuva Bharat' (MY Bharat) to harness technology's potential to drive youth development and youth-led progress. Its core objective is to provide young individuals equitable opportunities to achieve their aspirations and play a vital role in shaping a prosperous India.
Union Minister Anurag Singh Thakur has highlighted that the My Bharat platform will foster leadership skills in the youth.
The minister emphasised that the My Bharat platform is designed to raise awareness and facilitate youth participation in government programmes. He further said that it is not a financial incentive but rather a platform for motivated young individuals who are keen to make a positive societal contribution.
"Under the new arrangement, with access to resources & connection to opportunities, youth would become community change agents and nation builders allowing them to act as the Yuva Setu between the Government and the citizens. It seeks to harness the immense youth energy for nation-building," the government's statement read.
As per the government's vision, the establishment of MY Bharat is set to achieve several key outcomes. These include enhancing youth leadership skills, cultivating them as social innovators and community leaders, empowering them to become active drivers of development, aligning their aspirations with community needs, providing a unified platform for both young individuals and ministries, and facilitating two-way communication to connect youth with government initiatives
