The Enforcement Directorate is conducting searches at 15 locations across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi, reported ANI.

The agency is raiding locations in connection June 30 FIR registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation wherein it is alleged that bribes had been paid to government officials including those of National Medical Commission (NMC).

The alleged bribes were paid in lieu of disclosing confidential information pertaining to the inspection of medical colleges to the key managerial persons related to medical colleges and middlemen which enabled them to manipulate the parameters and obtain approval for running academic courses at the medical colleges.

According to officials, the premises being searched include seven medical colleges located in multiple states and certain private persons named as accused in the FIR.

The Supreme Court has agreed to hear the matter related to increasing air pollution in Delhi NCR on Monday. The matter was mentioned by the amicus (Court appointed lawyer) seeking early hearing in the matter due to urgency of the situation. A bench led by CJI Surya Kant acknowledged that the problem of air pollution is “definitely an issue that every resident on Delhi NCR is facing.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil a 77-feet-tall bronze statue of Lord Ram at Shree Samsthan Gokarn Jeevottam Mutt in South Goa district on Thursday, a mutt representative has said as per PTI. The PM will arrive at the venue at 3.45 pm. Sculptor Ram Sutar, who designed the Statue of Unity in Gujarat, has made the statue of Shree Ram, Goa Public Works Department minister Digambar Kamat said. This would be the tallest statue of Shree Ram in the world, the minister said.

The Enforcement Directorate has arrested online money gaming platform WinZO founders – Saumya Singh Rathore and Paavan Nanda – on money laundering charges, officials told news agency PTI on Thursday.
