Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on March 10, stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government has assisted sugarcane farmers in recovering crores of rupees in dues over the past few years. He also mentioned that the BJP government has paid Rs. 2000 crore to 7 lakh farmers from Azamgarh. Furthermore, PM Modi highlighted that the remunerative price for sugarcane farmers has been raised by 8% this year, increasing from Rs 315 to Rs 340 per quintal.
PM Modi was speaking in Azamgarh after inaugurating infrastructure projects worth Rs 38,000 crore. He emphasised that his government is committed to fulfilling every resolution related to the welfare of farmers across the country.
"The BJP government has cleared the dues worth thousands of crores of sugarcane farmers. Today, sugarcane farmers are receiving the price of sugarcane at the right time," he added.
Modi also reminded people about the previous government in Uttar Pradesh that had made sugarcane farmers cry as their money was either wasted or not received at all. Furthermore, Prime Minister Modi addressed the historical challenges faced by sugarcane farmers in the region, emphasizing the government's efforts to address their grievances.
The PM also elaborated on transformation brought about by initiatives in biogas and ethanol. Regarding PM Kisan Samman Nidhi.
The Prime Minister further stated that the Centre’s decision to hike sugarcane support price will benefit crores of sugarcane-producing farmers. "The infrastructure projects announced today will help farmers and the youth of Uttar Pradesh to get jobs and have a progressive future," he said. He added that the government wishes for farmers to get the right prices for their crops.
PM Modi also highlighted UP's rising profile, fueled by record levels of investment, ground-breaking ceremonies, and the expansion of expressway networks and highways.
Modi inaugurated and layed the foundation stone of 15 airport projects across the country worth more than Rs 9800 crore on March 10.
Hel inaugurated 12 new terminal buildings of Pune, Kolhapur, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Delhi, Lucknow, Aligarh, Azamgarh, Chitrakoot, Moradabad, Shravasti and Adampur Airports.
Modi also laid the foundation stone of three new Terminal Buildings of Kadapa, Hubballi and Belagavi Airports.
The 12 new Terminal Buildings will have a combined capacity to serve 620 Lakh passengers annually, while for the three terminal buildings whose foundation stone is being laid, once completed, the combined passenger handling capacity of these airports will increase to 95 Lakh passengers per annum.
